Joint Dinner Debate on Automated Driving and Road Safety on November 19, 2018 in Brussels |
“In the future, it will no longer be all about oil and rust, but primarily about bits and bytes.”
Modern vehicles already offer various driver assistance systems, which make driving easier. The future mobility goes one step further: Assistance systems partially or highly automated driving and soon autonomous vehicles. The driver is partly or completely relieved of the driving tasks and pointed out dangers in road traffic.
To make this driving legally secure for the future, the regulations are currently being revised nationally and internationally. In the development of systems, the guidelines and standards must be adapted or completely redesigned. The topics of IT security and data protection represent a major challenge in connected and automated driving.
