It is the mark of the TÜV test authorities, which may only be used by a Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) or a subsidiary company of the TÜV organisations. Due to having been registered with the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (HABM) as well as numerous trademark offices abroad, the TÜV trademark has legal validity around the world as a registered trade mark.
