In principle, you can visit the VdTÜV website without providing VdTÜV with personal data. Data from pseudonymised user profiles will not be aligned with any data from the actual user.

Information on the use of cookies

VdTÜV uses cookies on several pages. This helps keeping our website up-to-date and to enable the use of certain functions. The so-called 'cookies' are small text files, which your browser can store on your computer. The process of depositing a cookie file is also called 'setting a cookie'. You can configure your computer to your liking so that you will be informed of the setting of cookies. You can then decide whether to accept cookies occasionally or whether to accept cookies per se or whether to rule them out completely. Cookies may be used for different purposes, e.g. to recognise that your PC had a connection to a website before (permanent cookies) or to save recently viewed offers (session cookies). VdTÜV uses cookies to provide you with an enhanced user experience. However, the VdTÜV’s partners or members are not permitted, and it is technically impossible for the partners, to obtain, process or use personal information through cookies via the VdTÜV website. Most of the cookies VdTÜV uses are deleted from your hard drive after closure of the browser session (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and allow VdTÜV to recognise your computer during your next visit (permanent cookies). The way VdTÜV applies cookies do not incur any disadvantages or risks to you. In order to conveniently use all functions, VdTÜV recommends that you allow the acceptance of cookies from the VdTÜV website.

Analysis with the web analytics application 'Piwik'

VdTÜV uses the analytics software Piwik. It tracks online visits to one or more websites and displays reports on these visits for e.g. optimisation purposes. All accesses to the VdTÜV server (www.vdtuev.de) are registered. Therefore, VdTÜV uses your IP address in order to collect technical data, including, among others purposes, data about the pages you visited on the VdTÜV website, the time you spent on the VdTÜV website and the time of access. Such anonymous data are stored on the secure internal VdTÜV system, separately from personal information, and can therefore not be tracked to any individual person.

Piwik uses cookies to enable the analysis of how you use the website. These are so-called '1st party cookie', which are not automatically deleted after the end of your visit. You can prevent the installation of those cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser. Please verify the features in the browser you use, usually to find under settings > privacy and check the box 'do not track' or similar.  If you do not find the function, please contact your IT department.
