Unless otherwise stated, the data is only used and stored for this particular purpose. No data will be transferred to a third party.

In principle, you can visit our pages on the internet without transferring your personal data to us. Pseudonymised user data will not be matched with the data of the bearer of the pseudonym.

Information about the use of cookies

We use cookies on several pages to make the visit to our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions. The so-called 'cookies' are small text files which your browser can deposit on your computer. The process of depositing a cookie file is also referred to as 'setting a cookie'. You can change the settings of your browser according to your wishes so that it informs you about the setting of cookies, you can decide on accepting them on a case-to-case basis, or you can accept or reject cookies in principle. Cookies can be used for different purposes, e.g. to recognise that your PC has been connected to certain data or to a certain item on the website before (persistent cookies), or to save recent data or items viewed on the website (session cookies). We use cookies in order to offer more user comfort and convenience for you. However, our partner companies are not allowed to do this and it is technically impossible for them to collect, process or use personal data via our website through the use of cookies. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard disk after termination of the browser session (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us to recognise your computer when you visit again (permanent cookies). The way we set cookies entails neither disadvantages nor risks for you. In order to be able to use our “comfort” functions, we recommend that you enable the acceptance of cookies for our website.

Analysis with the Piwik tool

We make use of an automatic statistical analysis tool called Piwik, which serves to measure  and analyse visits to our website for marketing and optimisation purposes. Every access to this server ( is registered. For this, we use your IP address with the intention of collecting technical data, for example about the pages you visited on our website, the time you spent on each page and the time of access. These anonymised data are stored separately from personal data on the secure internal VdTÜV system and therefore do not allow identification of an individual.

Piwik uses so-called "cookies" - text files, which are deposited on your computer and enable an analysis of the use you made of our website. These are so-called "1st party cookies" which are not deleted automatically after the end of your visit. You can avoid the installation of the cookies by adjusting your browser settings:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer: Menu - Extras / Internet options / Security / Internet / Custom level / Deactivate cookies [set checkmark]. Confirm changes.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Menu - Extras / Settings / Privacy / Deactivate cookies [set checkmark]. Confirm changes.
