Conformity Assessment / Accreditation / Standardisation

Testing, inspection, certification, validation and verification are various types of conformity assessment established by international standards, providing for suitable approaches to the individual objects in question. The application of these conformity assessment types is further differentiated according to the relation between the involved parties. Only the third party fulfils the criteria of the highest independence with no engagement in design, manufacture, supply, installation, purchase, ownership, use or maintenance of the objects under assessment.

CEOC publishes position paper on Market Surveillance

In its position from 19/09/2016, CEOC International strengthens the importance of regulatory market surveillance and independent third party testing, joining the VdTÜV position from 16/10/2015.

Agreement reached on new European medical devices legislation

New provisions for medical devices and in vitro diagnostics have been decided at the informal trialogue on 25 May 2016. The regulations provide for a tightening of the rules for placing medical devices on the market and for more stringent monitoring after their market launch.
